CHP steps up Patrols, Seatbelt Enforcement Campaign

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol plans to increase patrols statewide as part of its annual CLICK IT OR TICKET campaign.

The CHP is focusing its enforcement efforts on seatbelt compliance, and the stats do not lie.

91% compliance rating nationwide. (in 2024)

56% of people killed in nighttime fatality crashes were not wearing their seatbelts. (in 2023)

Approx. 15,000 lives saved annually by seatbelts.

Among young adults aged 18-34 killed in crashes in 2023, 60% were not wearing seat belts.
