PRIMM, NV. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was killed in a collision with a parked SUV on southbound Interstate 15 in Jean, Nevada, Tuesday morning.
A 48-year-old man Mazin Al Jawhar was killed in the collision, which occurred at 3:55am, June 10, 2025, on the southbound Interstate 15 at mile marker 7, near Primm, according to the Nevada State Police and the Clark County Coroner’s office.
In a news release, the Highway/State Police said that a Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Eric Halton of Las Vegas, was traveling south on the interstate, north of mile marker six.
A Honda CR-V SUV, occupied by the victim, was parked off the interstate in the right shoulder.
The Chevy entered the right shoulder and struck the Honda, which overturned in desert terrain before ejecting Al Jawhar, police said.
According to officers, Halton showed signs of impairment.
Halton was arrested at a local hospital and booked in absentia into the Clark County Detention Center on the following charges:
- Felony, DUI alcohol/drugs resulting in death or substantial bodily harm.
- Reckless driving resulting in death.
- Driving without a valid driver license.
- Failure to drive within marked travel lanes.
- Failure to wear safety belt.
- Operating an unregistered vehicle.
“Halton was also driving without a valid driver’s license as it was previously revoked for DUI,” police said in the release.
