SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County firefighters are battling a quickly-growing brush fire burning in the hills of San Bernardino and Devore Sunday afternoon.
The Cable Fire was first reported at around 3:22pm in the area of the on Martin Ranch Road, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department crews.
They arrived at the scene to find the fire burning at a rapid rate of spread through vegetation. Also, they said the wind and the topography driven fire.
At the time of arrival, they said the blaze had already burned around 5 acres.
By 5pm they said the fire was over 13 acres.
Multiple water-dropping aircraft were dispatched to assist with the battle.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for heat related and one structure was threatened by the blaze.
They are addressing hot spots to stop the forward spread of the fire and has updated at 15 acres burned, according to the fire department.
At 7:45pm the fire is holding at 15 acres, updated the containment to 30%.
