BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A Corona man was killed Monday night after his white Honda Civic sedan, which was initially disabled on southbound Interstate 15, then was struck by a semi tractor-trailer.
The incident was reported at about 9:07pm on July 14, 2025, of a disabled Honda Civic black out (no lights on) in the slow lane on southbound 15 Freeway just after the Hodge Road exit.
According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, about 5 minutes after the initial call for the disabled Honda. The semi driver was unable to slow the truck and swerved to avoid the disabled Honda. The semi struck the back of the disabled car at freeway speeds.
The Corona man received major injuries and, tragically, was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The semi driver reported only had minor injuries.
The cause of the vehicle becoming disabled and the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
