CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office’s search for 55-year-old Elvia Basantes, has ended. Deputies found her vehicle and body off of Swarthout Canyon Road and Cajon Boulevard in the Cajon Pass Monday afternoon.
She was last seen leaving her residence in Hesperia Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:30pm.
According to her family, she was headed out to make Avon deliveries throughout the High Desert, where she is well known by customers in Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia, and Victorville.
Thats when her husband attempted to call her at around 6pm, her phone went straight to voicemail.
Her family had contacted all local hospitals, stores, and even checked with the coroner’s office.
So, the family issued a missing person on Sunday night with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and her vehicle descriptions as a dark blue Ford Expedition SUV.
At 4:40pm California Highway Patrol received a call to the area of Swarthout Canyon Rd. of a abandoned vehicle that has been parked since 6am Monday morning.
The investigation into what caused Basantes’s death is ongoing.
