CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving a pickup truck and semi tractor-trailer temporarily shut down multiple lanes on Interstate 15 on Thursday afternoon in the Cajon Pass.
Shortly after 2:30pm Thursday August 28, 2025, a green Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling northbound on I-15 just after the Kenwood Avenue exit. The pickup was traveling at a high speed veered into the #4 lane, where a semi-truck was traveling slower and hit the back of the semi.
Officials say the pickup truck sustained major damage and all the occupants were not seriously injured.
The semi sustained minimal damage to the trailer and the driver was not injured.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
