CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Three lanes of southbound Interstate 15 are reopened after a RV to hauler trailer overturned and crashed near the truck escape ramp in the Cajon Pass Monday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol were getting calls of a silver Chevrolet Silverado pick truck pulling a RV toy hauler trailer that jackknifed and the trailer overturned. The crash took place Monday afternoon September 8, 2025 at about 2:16pm, on southbound I-15 about 2 miles before the Highway 138 exit. The 30ish foot trailer flipped over on its side and landed in the #1, #2 and #3 lane. The pickup truck did not overturn.
Everybody was able to exit the pickup truck according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log.
They removed the truck and trailer from the traffic lanes and lanes were reopened at 3:35pm
For reasons still under investigation, the truck and trailer lost control, and the trailer rolled over.
This caused a major traffic tie-up on southbound I-15. Traffic was jammed all the way to Main Street in Hesperia at one point. Side streets were also jammed.
The incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
