PINON HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning after a head-on collision on Highway 138, officials reported.
The accident occurred around 5:24am by an iPhone traffic collision alert on October 12, 2025. The collision happened on Hwy 138 near Wintergreen Road.
The crash involved a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a semi tractor-trailer hauling produce.
According to San Bernardino County Fire, the driver of the Toyota was trapped inside the pickup truck with serious injuries and requested a medical helicopter to land.
Highway 138 was shut down in both directions.
The driver of the Toyota, was airlifted by Reach Air Medical #13 to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The semi driver had minor injuries.
