CRESTLINE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was found about 75 feet down a mountainside off of Highway 138 in Crestline.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a body being spotted near Highway 138 and Crestline Road in the town of Crestline at around 11:42am on Tuesday November 18, 2025.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the woman down a rugged embankment, about 75 feet off the side of the roadway. Fire crews with San Bernardino County Fire helped retrieve her body from the mountainside.
It’s unclear how long she had been down the embankment or what led to her fall. The death remains under investigation at this time.
An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday and found injuries consistent with a fall, officials said, though her official cause of death has not yet been determined. Detectives with the department’s Specialized Investigations Division are working to positively identify the woman, who remains unnamed.
She is described as a white female between 25 and 35 years old, she was wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue pants, and white tennis shoes when she was found.
Anyone with information that may help identify her is urged to contact the Specialized Investigations Division at 909-890-4904. Anonymous tips can be submitted to We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME or wetip.com.
