HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Hesperia Police Department will conduct DUI enforcement patrols in the city on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5pm to 1am on Saturday morning, officials announced.
According to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the patrols aim to identify and stop drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“Impaired driving is preventable,” said Traffic Sgt. C. Lafever. “It’s a choice. If you’ve been drinking or have taken drugs that impair, make the right choice by finding a sober driver or alternate transportation to take you places.”
Authorities emphasized that impaired driving isn’t limited to alcohol. Prescription and over-the-counter medications can also interfere with a person’s ability to drive safely. Additionally, although both medicinal and recreational marijuana use is legal in California, it remains illegal to drive while under its influence.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI offense may face approximately $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, the department warned.
