CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> AAA Auto Club predicts over 81 million people will travel at least 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving week. 73 million of these people will be traveling by car.
I can say the road will be jammed pack starting Monday and by Wednesday will be the peak travel day. Saturday afternoon and Sunday will be the peak of people traveling back home.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says, the crash rate jumps to 13% during the week of Thanksgiving and spikes to 65% on Sunday after the holiday.
NO ROADWORK on Wednesday night – Sunday night from the 10 freeway up to Stateline on Interstate 15 this Thanksgiving weekend.
Expect traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon/evening for northbound I-15 and on Sunday afternoon/evening for southbound I-15 in the Cajon Pass, Devore, Hesperia, Victorville, Barstow, Baker, and Stateline areas. Try to travel during off peak hours (like the early morning or late at night). The worst time to travel is around 2pm to 7pm on Wednesday. Traffic coming back is Sunday, the worst time is 12pm to 6pm.
If you plan to hit the road this Thanksgiving Weekend below are some helpful tips to make your trip more enjoyable.
• Travel in early morning hours if possible – try to leave before noon Wednesday and Sunday
• BRING WATER! Also bring snacks and necessary medication the freeway or highway may closed due to weather or a accident.
• Have a full tank of gas before you go.
• Make sure your car is in good running condition. Check all the fluids, tires and tire pressure.
• Bring a charged cell phone (with a car charger).
• Use the restroom before you get on the road – you don’t know where you may get stopped for long periods of time.
• Please bring your patience. Don’t need road rage this Holiday weekend.
• Know before you go and check the Pain In The Pass Facebook Group for up-to-date traffic conditions on the 15 freeway. Plan ahead and add extra time before you travel. Have a positive attitude — relax and enjoy the ride!
