Busy Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass was Temporarily Shut Down Due to Flooding

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of San Bernardino County on Christmas Eve. after heavy rainfall closed a portion of a busy 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass.

A portion of Interstate 15, which connects the high desert to San Bernardino neighboring suburbs, were impacted by flooding, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened around 7:30am December 24, 2025 on northbound I-15 at the Highway 138 exit.

Some traffic lanes were temporarily closed due to flooding, according to Caltrans including both the north and southbound lanes. Northbound had a longer cleanup.

 It was reported multiple clogged drains from the center divider caused the closure.

Caltrans said, at 5:20pm all lanes were reopened.
