ESSEX, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi tractor trailer overturned on its side after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 40, Sunday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol Officers responded to the crash around 3:14pm January 11, 2026, on westbound I-40 mile marker 91 or about nine miles after the Essex Road exit.
According to CHP traffic log, one semi was on the right shoulder of the freeway with damage. The other vehicle involved was a semi tractor-trailer on that side in the center median of the freeway. ‘
Neither truck driver or passengers were injured in the crash.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Needles Office.
