CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi tractor-trailer tried to exit from southbound Interstate 15 onto Highway 138 in Cajon Pass hit a car and another semi after officials it lost its brakes.
California Highway Patrol said, the truck was exiting on sou5thbound I-15 into Highway 138 about 5:56am on January 26. From reports the semi went through the intersection and hit a blue Hyundai Sonata sedan and another semi tractor-trailer. The collision causes all three vehicles to smash together and land near the Shell Gas Station guardrail.
The semi that caused the collision landed on its side and reported to catch fire.
One driver had to be extracted from there vehicle and were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Officials suspect the cause was due to the semi losing its brakes, but it is still under investigation.
CHP and Caltrans said the on-ramp to southbound I-15 would probably be closed for over 8 hours.
