APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> It’s been more than 10 years in the making, and some thought it would never happen.
While it’s still another year and a half or more from being completed if no delays, the bridge will connect Apple Valley and Hesperia.
The project is located on Rock Springs Road over the Mojave River, east of Glendale Avenue to west of Deep Creek Road. (see attached location map).

The project involves replacing the existing two-lane low water crossing over the Mojave River with a two-lane bridge. The new bridge will feature four-foot shoulders, a concrete-barricaded sidewalk with streetlighting on the south side, and drainage improvements.
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION: Lane closures may be required during construction which may cause delays; however, traffic control will be established on each road to direct motorists along one 11-foot lane in both directions.
We encourage you to allow additional time in your commute schedule for possible delays and to please drive with caution and reduce speeds through work zones. We regret any inconvenience this work may cause you, and we look forward to the timely completion of this project that will enhance the quality of life in our local communities. Thank you for your patience and cooperation in assisting us in constructing this project.
The cost will be nearly $19.2 million to build with the project is expected to be complete around late spring or summer of 2027.
