LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The identity has been released of the two people killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 18 last Monday morning in Lucerne.
The driver Jeffrey Cymbaluk, 66-year-old, and passenger Paula Lowery Cymbaluk, 64-years-old, both residents of Lucerne Valley.
California Highway Patrol officers and San Bernardino County Fire were called to the scene of Hwy 18 near Meridian Road in Lucerne Valley at about 9:32am on March 16, 2026.
The vehicles involved in the collision was a red semi-truck pulling a set of pneumatic/dry bulk tank trailers, a silver Mercury Grand Marquis sedan, and a Jeep.
For reasons still under investigation, it looks like the driver of the Mercury lost control, crossed the centerline into the path of the semi. The semi-impact the passenger side of the sedan.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
