BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi driver was seriously injured early Thursday morning after crashed into the back of a semi tractor-trailer on Interstate 15.
The crash was reported about 6:22am on April 9, 2026 on the northbound lanes of I-15 about 5 miles after Baker Blvd. exit, according to California Highway Patrol officers and the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Preliminary reports indicate a semi tractor-trailer been rear-ended by another semi tractor-trailer at high speeds. The impact caused the semi to lose its engine and landed in the traffic lanes. The semi ended up on the trailer.
According to fire department the semi driver was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
All lanes of the northbound 15 Freeway were shut down as emergency crews performed a major cleanup on the incident. At one point traffic was backup over 10 miles long.
