SUV Fire Sparked Small Brush Fire in the Cajon Pass on I-15 Friday Night

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A white SUV caught fire on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass sparked a small brush fire Friday night.

San Bernardino County Fire said they responded to the vehicle fire at around 8:45pm, May 1, 2026, on northbound I-15 freeway about 2 miles after Highway 138 exit in the center divider.

California Highway Patrol needed to block the fast lane so the fire crews were able to extinguish the flames and the nearby brush.

All the occupant of the vehicle, were able to safely get out.

No injuries were reported.
