LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person killed and another was injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on Highway 247 near Lucerne Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 10:50am May 6, 2026, on Hwy 247/Old Woman Springs Road near the area of Stony Ridge Rd. and Old Victor Rd. According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log.
A driver and a passenger were in a black Telsa sedan and a driver in a semi-truck hauling dry cement were both traveling on the highway in different directions, “for an unknown reason,” one of the vehicles left the road, went through center line and collided into each other.
San Bernardino County Fire arrived to find the Tesla sedan with heavy damage with the driver completely pinned in the vehicle, prompting an immediate heavy rescue and extrication operation.
The driver of the Tesla was pronounced deceased at the scene and the passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The semi driver was reported not hurt in the collision.
