Cajon Fire Quickly Contained Near the 15 Freeway

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A brush fire that broke out in the Cajon Wash riverbed was quickly brought under control after it was spotted and reported.

The San Bernardino County Fire, CALFIRE, and other fire departments, responded to the area of Cajon Boulevard near Keenbrook Road in the Cajon Pass at about 10:58am on May 18, 2026.

Officials credited the quick report with helping crews contain the fire before it could spread further.

The Cajon Fire had burned about 5 acres and destroyed two structures and some out buildings, according to fire officials

Crews were able to stop the forward progress, and by 1pm the fire was reported to be nearly contained.

No injuries were reported.
