VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving two semi-trucks caused major disruptions on southbound Interstate 15 Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at about 2:32am on May 28, 2026, on southbound Interstate 15 just before the La Mesa/Nisqualli Road offramp.
The circumstances that led to the crash are currently unknown.
They said, the driver of the semi-truck believed to be hauling approximately 33,000 pounds of Amazon goods packages was rear-ended by another semi hauling 41,000 pounds of corrosions liquid.
Due to the contact the semi driver who rear-ended the semi-truck lost control and went off the right shoulder of the freeway hit the ditch and partly overturned.
The slow lane was closed for several hours to off load the liquid and a hazmat cleanup. Traffic was backup about 3 miles long all the way to D Street.
Both drivers were not injured in the collision.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
