VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The I-15 freeway in Victorville was temporarily shut down Friday afternoon due to a man threatening to jump from the Bear Valley Road bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at approximately 12:49pm on June 12, 2026, on the Bear Valley Road overcrossing over the southbound 15 freeway.
With help from multiple agencies to the scene, including Victorville Fire Department, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, and a Crisis Intervention Team.
Traffic backed up for miles while responders worked the scene.
Fire personnel using a ladder was successfully to bring the man to safety from the overpass after the freeway was closed in both directions.
The individual was subsequently placed on a 5150 hold for evaluation and transported for further care.
Freeway was reopened a little after 1:30pm.
