BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A two vehicle traffic collision on the southbound Interstate 15 near the Midway Rest Area prompted a major emergency response Sunday morning.
The crash was reported around 7:45am on June 28, 2026, about two miles after the Midway Rest Area on northbound I-15. From reports the two vehicles were involved was a white Ford Ranger pickup truck and a unknown vehicle listed on the CHP traffic log.
Witnesses told authorities the pickup truck came from the northbound lanes across the center divider median and across all southbound lanes and then landed about 20 feet up the embankment on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Debris scattered across the freeway lanes.
Additional details were limited at this time. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
