Late June is bringing dangerous heat and humidity for much of Southern California.
Parents — it’s critical to prevent more children and pets from dying in hot cars.
It’s NEVER safe to leave a child or pets alone in a vehicle:
- Not if you’re parked in the shade.
- Not if the windows are cracked or down.
- Not if you’re just running a quick errand.
As of the last week of June, not evening halfway through the year 8 kids have died from heatstroke across the U.S. after being left or forgotten in hot cars. One kid was from the Southern California area.
A vehicle can quickly become deadly — especially for a child or pets, whose body heats up 3 to 5 times faster than an adult’s body.
All it takes is 10 minutes for your vehicle to jump 20 degrees and jump 10+ degrees after every 10 minutes passes.
Remember check and look in the back seat!
