CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Drivers again up or down the Cajon Pass were facing significant delays on Interstate 15 Thursday late morning into the afternoon as pothole repairs snarled traffic in both directions.
Traffic began picking up around 10am for northbound I-15 at the Cleghorn Road exit, as California Highway Patrol and Caltrans running a major traffic brakes for road repairs due to Saturday storm and guardrail repairs on the onramp of Cleghorn. Pothole crews went all the way to the top of the Cajon Pass at Oak Hill Road. Northbound traffic break ended just after 11am.
The biggest trouble spots are along southbound I-15, where lanes are blocked at the Oak Hill Road bridge for the start of pothole repairs after 11am and lasted until 2pm at Glen Helen Parkway.
Drivers traveling through the Cajon Pass should expect slow-moving traffic and consider alternate routes if possible. Or just wait to drive up or down.
