YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A SUV ran off the freeway on Ghost Town Road offramp, on northbound Interstate 15, killing at least one person, officials said Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported about 12:49pm on July 6, 2026 according to the California Highway Patrol. The unknown tan SUV veered off the freeway at a high rate of speed, rollover multiple times and landed on the offramp. One person was ejected from the vehicle, found outside of the vehicle and pronounced deceased by a CHP officer.
The Ghost Town Rd offramp was closed for an extended period for the investigation.
CHP didn’t say how many other people were involved or injured in the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, from reports.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
