YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A 30-year-old Calimesa man was driving his Toyota SUV that ran off the freeway on Ghost Town Road offramp, on northbound Interstate 15, officials said Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported about 12:49pm on July 6, 2026 according to the California Highway Patrol. The Toyota SUV veered off the freeway at a high rate of speed, rollover multiple times and landed on the offramp.
Melik Jackson, the lone occupant was ejected from the vehicle, found outside of the vehicle and pronounced deceased by a CHP officer.
The Ghost Town Rd offramp was closed for an extended period for the investigation.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, from reports.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
