LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash involving two semi-trucks blocked Highway 247 Old Woman Springs Road on Barstow Road of Lucerne Valley.
According to California Highway Patrol, at about 6:55am on July 9, 2026. Officers and San Bernardino County Fire were called out to the intersection of Highway 247 and Barstow Rd. for a two-vehicle collision.
They arrived to find two semi-trucks had been involved in a crash that was delaying traffic in the area. Troopers said red semi driver did suffered minor injuries in the crash, and the other semi driver was unharmed.
According to CHP officials, their investigation found the red semi-trucks hauling Ammonium nitrate had been eastbound on Hwy 247. That semi did not stop for the stop sign at the intersection and hit a white semi-truck hauling rocks that had the right of way.
The red semi sustained major front-end damage. The white semi pulling a set of belly dump trailers which was hauling rocks, also sustained significant damage, to the last trailer separated and overturned during the collision.
CHP issued a SIG Alert on Hwy 247 Old Woman Springs Road for about 4 hours as crews worked to clear the scene and a hazmat cleanup.
CHP are reminding drivers to pay attention when behind the wheel.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, from reports.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
