MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The driver of a classic hot rod was airlifted to a local trauma center after a rollover crash on Southbound Interstate 15 near Stateline Saturday night.
The crash occurred around 7:19pm on July 25, 2026, on southbound I-15 just before the Halloran Summit Road exit in the center divider.
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log stated, the driver of 1929 green roadster hit an object in the road and veered in center median. The vehicle landed on its roof in the center divider with fuel leaking out on the dirt.
San Bernardino County Fire provided immediate care to the injured patient, whose condition necessitated a MEDEVAC for further treatment. CHP and firefighters established a landing zone on northbound I-15 side.
Northbound side was closed for the helicopter and traffic was backup for miles. Crews cleared the scene and resumed traffic at approximately 8:45pm.
Mercy Air helicopter 7 airlifted the patient to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
