PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A head-on collision on Highway 138 in Phelan left one-person injured Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash happened on July 25, 2026 at about 3:31pm. Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle head-on crash on Hwy 138 just after Lone Pine Canyon Road. The vehicles involved in the collision was a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a dark gray Nissan Altima sedan, and a semi tractor-trailer.
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log stated, the driver of the Nissan tried to pass the semi at a unknown-speed using the center line. The driver lost control, striking the semi-trailer and crossing over to oncoming traffic, where it crashed head-on with the Toyota pickup truck.
One person was transported by a ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
