CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcycle rider is dead after a crash on southbound Interstate 15 Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was initially reported about 12:58pm August 7, 2026, on southbound I-15 when CHP said all but one lane was blocked about a mile after the new truck scales.
A witness stated a vehicle ahead swerved to avoid a crash, and the motorcyclist swerved to avoid that vehicle, then the rider lost control and then collided into a truck possibly a water truck traveling in the slow lane.
The motorcycle and rider came to rest in the slow lane, according to CHP Traffic Log.
Officers responding to the scene found the motorcyclist not responsive in the roadway and later pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP said, drivers are told to use alternate routes while they investigated. At 3pm traffic is backup at least 8 miles
