CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was taken to the hospital after their vehicle crashed into a message sign pole on the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass Monday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Rescue were dispatched, at about 8:06am on August 31, 2026, on northbound Interstate 15 about a mile before the Cleghorn Road exit.
CHP and Firefighters arrived on scene and found a vehicle up the embankment with major front-end damage to the SUV from hitting the sign’s pole.
That driver was taken to the hospital with a broken ankle and other injuries from the crash.
The other two vehicle had minor damage to their vehicles.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
