WRIGHTWOOD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Three of the four victims who died in a rollover crash on Highway 2 in Wrightwood early Friday morning has been identified.
California Highway Patrol said, the crash was reported about 1:33am September 4, 2026, along Hwy 2 near Flume Canyon Drive and Mountain High Resort, between the towns of Big Pines and Wrightwood.
The three of the four victims have been identified as:
Jason Potter, 19, Nevaeh Harper, 20, and Rebekah Cabral-Gonzalez, 21. The fourth person’s name has not been released yet.
It’s unclear if all the victims were from the Wrightwood area.
There were only two survivors from the crash.
Investigators say six people were in the 2016 dark gray or black Hyundai Veloster compact hatchback car that seats four, when the driver veered off the road, rolled down an embankment and crashed into a power pole. The vehicle crashed down about 40 feet off the highway.
Five of the occupants were ejected upon impact but only one survived. That person and a sixth occupant that was in the car were both airlifted by Mercy Air helicopters to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Has of Saturday morning there is no update on the two conditions.
Alcohol is likely a contributing factor in this crash,” according to the CHP.
