WRIGHTWOOD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two fundraisers were launched on Saturday and two started on Sunday to help support the family of the three young adults who were killed in a rollover car crash early Friday morning off of Highway 2.
California Highway Patrol said, the crash was reported about 1:33am September 4, 2026, along Hwy 2 near Flume Canyon Drive and Mountain High Resort, between the towns of Big Pines and Wrightwood.
Investigators say six people were in the 2016 black Hyundai Veloster compact hatchback car that seats four, when the driver veered off the road, rolled down an embankment and crashed into a power pole. The vehicle crashed down about 40 feet off the highway.
Five of the occupants were ejected upon impact but only one survived. That person and a sixth occupant that was in the car were both airlifted by Mercy Air helicopters to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Has of Saturday morning there is no update on the two conditions.

There simply are no words for a loss like this. What the Potter family is facing is unfathomable, and no family should ever have to endure the heartbreak of losing their child or sibling. Right now, they are navigating a pain that is impossible to put into words, while trying to process the sudden absence of someone who meant so much to so many.
Our community is feeling this heaviness alongside them. Jason touched more lives than he probably ever realized, and the love surrounding his family is a reflection of just how special he was.

Debbie Lynn is raising funds for their friend Jillian LeAnn Torres after the heartbreaking loss of Jillian’s son. He was tragically taken from her in a car accident along with three of his best friends. This loss has shaken not only Jillian, but the entire community, and the pain is still so fresh.
Right now, Jillian family is in a state of shock and trying to process something no parent should ever have to face. We are asking for your support in honoring the beautiful life and memory of Rebeka Cabral, a beloved young Wrightwood local whose presence touched more lives than she ever could have known.
Rebeka was a bright light, a free spirit with an incredible zest for life, a kind heart, and a genuine love for the outdoors. She was an athlete throughout school and found another great passion through music. She participated in several school bands, expressing herself through something she loved so deeply.
But perhaps what made Rebeka most special was the way she cared for other people.
During her time as a ski instructor, Rebeka showed tremendous patience and compassion toward the children she taught. She had a particularly special way with children with special needs. She never rushed them or made them feel different. She met them with kindness, encouragement, and understanding, celebrating their accomplishments no matter how big or small.
That compassion carried into her dedication to behavioral health and special education. Rebeka worked with children with special needs, and those who knew her best often felt that this wasn’t simply a job for her, it was her calling. She had a natural ability to connect with people, especially those who needed someone willing to truly see them, listen to them, and believe in them.
Rebeka was unselfish with her time and gave far more than she ever expected to receive. That was simply who she was. She gave because she cared. She helped because someone needed help. She showed up for others without expecting recognition or anything in return.
She was a friend to everyone she encountered. Her kindness was not something you had to know her well to recognize, it was something people felt. Those who knew Rebeka will remember her as one of the kindest souls they ever met.
And at the heart of Rebeka’s life was her extraordinary bond with her twin sister, Victoria. Their connection was deep and unique, a bond that only twins can truly understand. They shared a connection that was woven into so many parts of their lives, and the love between them was unmistakable.
Rebeka was deeply loved by her family and cherished by so many friends, teachers, students, coworkers, and members of the Wrightwood community. She touched countless lives simply by being herself. She left people feeling cared for, accepted, and valued, and she never asked for anything in return.
Her life was far too short, but the impact she made was not.
We are creating this fundraiser to help support Rebeka’s family through this devastating loss and to help with the expenses and challenges they now face.
