LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A brush fire that burned in the hills of Lucerne burned about two acres, San Bernardino County fire officials said.
The blaze called the Orchard Fire started at around 11:47am on September 19, 2026, but it quickly spread and traveled uphill. The location of the fire was north of Highway 18 above Phantom Lane.
Crews attacked the fire from both the ground and with one helicopter. By 12:30pm, officials said firefighters had “significantly slowed the fire’s progress.”
Crews said some areas of the fire were difficult to access for air resources and ground crews due to steep, narrow terrain.
It was not immediately clear what started the fire.
