CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A car burst into flames on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Friday afternoon.
San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene at 2:16pm October 16, 2026 on northbound I-15 at the Kenwood Avenue exit. The firefighters worked to extinguish the flame from a brown Kia Soul on the right shoulder of the freeway.
Two lanes were completely shut down while firefighting operations were underway due to the gusty winds.
The occupants of the Kia were able to get out before emergency crews arrived.
There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
