VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The unidentified woman fell from the bridge sign, which spans the 15 freeway in Victorville.
About 11:15am California Highway Patrol officers were going to make contact with a female pedestrian on the right shoulder of the freeway. Just before then made contact she ran away from officers up the embankment onto the Palmdale Road bridge. Then she jumped the fence and walked onto the sign above the freeway.
CHP issued a Sig Alert at 11:30am Monday morning on a northbound portion of Interstate 15 at Palmdale Road.
CHP said the 40 year-old woman, from Apple Valley about 12:45pm started to climb down the Victorville City Fire Department ladder when she let go and fell from the firefighter ladder. She landed into a inflatable air bag and was uninjured. The woman was transported by ambulance to Victor Valley Hospital in Victorville to be placed on a 72-hour hold for a medical evaluation, authorities said.
The incident caused heavy traffic along northbound 15 freeway at Palmdale Road. Traffic was backup all the way to Ranchero Rd.
