CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person suffered injuries after rear-ending a disabled SUV, which was broken down in the left lane on Interstate 15 Sunday morning in the Cajon Pass.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. The collision was reported at about 6:12am, Sunday January 15, 2023. The crash location was on Northbound Interstate 15 about two miles before the Oak Hill Road exit.
From reports from the CHP traffic log, the vehicles involved in the crash was a disabled blue GMC Envoy that had major rear-end damage. The second vehicle involved was a sliver Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV with major front-end damage and landed on it side.
Rescue crews requested one ambulance to the scene. One person was transported by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. The other people involved had only minor injures.
According to the CHP Traffic Log stated the sliver Toyota FJ Cruiser hit the disabled vehicle and landed on its side in the #1 lane. The disabled blue GMC Envoy was hit and push in the #3 lane. Debris from the crash scene was spread all over the traffic lanes as they closed four of the five lanes for about 30 minutes for the cleanup.
