PINION HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A roughly 26-acre vegetation fire broke out Saturday at a moderate rate of spread in Pinion Hills.
The so-called Fremont Fire was reported about 1:40pm August 2 in the area of Fremontia Road and Mesquite Rd in Pinion Hills, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Additional resources were requested to assist at the scene with aircraft and dozers. Crews also called for more engines for structure protection.
At 5pm the forward progression has been stopped.
With updated mapping the acreages has been changed to 30 acres burned.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, and it was not immediately clear if any structures were burned. One picture showed a structure was burning.
