YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A woman who apparently had pulled over on the shoulder of Interstate 15 because of car trouble was serous injured when she was hit by a semi-truck Sunday night, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 11:59pm Sunday August 17, 2025, in the northbound right shoulder of Interstate 15 at the Harvard Road exit.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a white Honda Civic sedan was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway. She was outside of the vehicle checking her car after running over a tire tread in the roadway.
For unknown reasons, the driver of a semi-truck traveled toward the parked vehicle and struck the Honda in the rear-end.
The semi driver who hit the woman did not stop or try to help after the collision, CHP said. The passenger also did not get a good look at the semi either.
Her son came to check on his mom and called for help.
San Bernardino County Fire called for a medical helicopter to landed at the crash scene. Mercy Air helicopter #66 landed and airlifted her to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton with traumatic injuries.
No description of the semi-truck involved in the crash has been released. CHP said there should be damage to the passenger side of the semi.
