PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A train track bridge was damaged Friday night when a large forklift on a trailer hit the underside of the train trestle bridge over Highway 138.
At about 8:46pm on Friday September 5, 2025, on westbound Hwy 138 about a mile before Interstate 15. The pickup truck pulling the forklift on a trailer was driving beneath the train trestle bridge when the forklift struck the bridge and fell onto the roadway.
Damage to a bridge and train traffic was halted for a inspect.
No injuries were reported.
Hwy 138 was closed for hours after the cleanup of debris and to remove the forklift from the highway.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
