Hyundai Recalls nearly 600K Vehicles for Seat Belt and for a Door Issue

DETROIT, MI. (Pain In The Pass) >> Hyundai has recalled nearly 600,000 vehicles, more than 500,000 of them for potential seat belt failures and about 30,000 for defective electric vehicle charging port doors.

Hyundai Motor America announced the recall of 568,850 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles for seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger and second-row window seats that may fail to latch fully. Hyundai recalled certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles manufactured between April 10, 2019 and June 16, 2025.

What to do: Until replacement, Hyundai advises drivers and passengers to insert the seatbelt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, according to a NHTSA recall report.

Hyundai was aware of 546 reports of detective seat belt latches in the outlined vehicles, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall report. These reports did not involve in crashes, injuries or fatalities.

Hyundai also recalled 31,042 2023-2025 IONIQ 6 electric vehicles for charging port doors that may detach.

Hyundai was aware of six reports of detective charging port, according to a NHTSA recall report. These reports also did not involve in crashes, injuries or fatalities.

Vehicle owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. The recall number for the faulty seat belts is 283 and the number for the defective charging port door is 282.
