MERCED, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol Police officer pulled over a vehicle whose license plate was clearly homemade.
A picture released by CHP Merced office on Friday shows a white Nissan Sentra sedan with a different-looking license plate. CHP says that the different-looking plate is due to it being handmade.
Officer Thornton made an enforcement stop on this vehicle after noticing something unusual about the rear license plate. Upon closer look, it turned out to be handmade!
We’ll give this driver points for creativity.
While we appreciate the effort to stay compliant after losing the original plate, California law requires vehicles to display state issued plates only.
If your plates is lost or stolen, you can easily get replacements through the DMV instead of breaking out the arts and craft supplies.
