HALLORAN SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A semi tractor-trailer burst into flames on southbound Interstate 15, bringing all traffic to a halt Sunday night.
The semi fire happened in the southbound lanes of I-15 about 3 miles from the Halloran Springs Road exit. The fire was reported around 8:13pm on January 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log said, the semi was speeding at a high rate of speed prior to the fire.
Traffic lanes were stopped to fight the flames then open the two left lanes. The slow was closed for recovery and for the cleanup for hours.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
It was unclear exactly what caused the fire.
