HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Hesperia Police Department officials report that the family of missing Derick Ortega, 20-year-old Male Resident of Hesperia asking for the public’s help in finding him.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at about 11:49am., Derick Ortega contacted his parents and advised he would no longer be able to take his younger sister to the dentist as previously planned. Derick was seen on video surveillance leaving the residence, driving a gray 2012 Honda Civic bearing California license plate 8FAU996. Ortega left the residence without a cell phone or any identification.
Deputies responded to the residence and began a missing person investigation, but Ortega has not been located. Ortega is 5’6” tall, and weighs about 170lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a burgundy sweatshirt, brown pants, and a black hat.
