B-52 Crash at Edwards Air Force Base, 8 Crew Members believed Dead

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Eight crew members are believed to be dead after a B-52 bomber airplane crashed shortly after takeoff from Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County on Monday, officials said.

The Air Force B-52 Stratofortress, which was reportedly on a routine test mission, crashed shortly after takeoff at 11:20am Monday, June 15, 2026.

“Initial indications are that the crash was not survivable,” the air force base said in a statement.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

A major plume of black smoke could reportedly be seen for miles shortly after the crash. People as far away in Barstow could see the smoke plume.

Each plane costs $84 million and built by Boeing.
