YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol said three people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 Monday afternoon.
CHP said the accident happened at around 12:50pm on June 22, 2026, when a burgundy GMC Yukon or a Chevrolet Suburban SUV carrying at least five people and two dogs crashed on northbound I-15 just before the Calico Road exit. The vehicle rolled over multiple times landed in the center divider.
CAL FIRE firefighters and other rescue personal requested at least three ambulances, two medical helicopters and reported that one victim was lying on the freeway but was still breathing.
Paramedic said, two patients were airlifted by Mercy Air 66 and Reach Air Medical 43 from the scene to Loma Linda University Medical Center both in critical condition.
According to the CHP traffic log stated, three people were deceased as a result of the solo vehicle rollover crash.
CHP temporarily closed all northbound lanes at Ghost Town Road for the two medical helicopters to land, for the coroner to arrive, and for the crash investigation. This caused a major traffic backup for about six miles backup all the way to Old Highway 58 exit.
Two French bulldogs were inside the vehicle. From the animal control officer indicated the dogs were not injured from the crash.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have not released the identities of the three people or the relationship at this time.
