CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A early morning crash involving three vehicles shut down a stretch of the Cajon Pass Tuesday and sent one person to the hospital, according to San Bernardino County Fire.
California Highway Patrol and fire crews were called out around 2:13am June 23, 2026., on northbound I-15 about two miles after the Kenwood Ave exit. When the first unit arrived, they found three damaged vehicles-one of them overturned blocking multiple lanes.
The scene was serious enough that responders immediately closed the freeway.
The first collision was between a black Lexus and an unknown vehicle that rolled over multiple times landed on its wheels with debris scattered across the traffic lanes. The third vehicle was a gray Honda Civic crash into the debris and became disabled.
One person was taken to a local hospital. Officials haven’t released details about their injuries.
The freeway was closed for about 30 minutes while first responders worked the scene and CHP officers documented the crash.
Lanes reopened shortly after 3am.
Additional details were limited at this time. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
