NEEDLES, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Eastbound Interstate 40 is reopened after officials with California Highway Patrol say the overturned semi crash in Needles was cleared.
According to a release, the crash occurred at 8:02am on Wednesday July 15, 2026, after a semi-truck overturned after appearing to crash into a guardrail on the side of the freeway.
Eastbound was closed from J Street and one lane was reopened after they moved the semi to the fast lane. As of 7pm no estimated time of reopening all lanes.
The semi driver had minor injuries in the collision.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Needles Office.
