VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Victorville Station conducted a distracted driving enforcement operation focused on drivers suspected of violating California hands-free cell phone law.
The enforcement operation was conducted from 4pm to 8pm and resulted in 32 traffic stops and 26 citations. Of those citations, 14 were issued for cell phone violations and 12 were issued for other traffic violations. During the operation, deputies also conducted two driving under the influence (DUI) investigations, which resulted in two DUI arrests.
The Victorville Station reminds motorists that safe driving requires their full attention. If you need to make a call, send a message, use an application, or otherwise interact with your phone, safely pull over and park before doing so.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
